JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A GRAPHICS DESIGNER
We are looking for a creative Graphic Designer who will be responsible for illustration, motion graphics designing, and visual storytelling. Successful candidates will be coming up with and execute ideas for various stories from any of our news verticals that includes charts, infographics, illustrations, gifs or motion pieces.
As a Graphics Designer:
- Bachelor's Degree in communications, graphic arts, interactive media or technology related field experience.
- 2 to 3 years proven work experience as a graphics designer possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
- Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
- Experienced in making social media platform contents.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Lumen5
- Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop etc.)
- Highly proficient in all design aspects
- Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Someone who can work unsupervised and have an ambition to become a team leader
- Proficient Knowledge in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or other graphic design software
- Experience in content writing a huge advantage
- Ability to perform under tight deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Competent with Content Management, Social Media Marketing or Email marketing
- Someone who can work unsupervised and have an ambition to become a team leader
- Experience in Basic Premiere pro is a plus
- Willing to work on a Night Shift
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with the art team, design director, and editors to create art that is appropriate, striking, mobile friendly and shareable
- Create charts, infographics and data visualizations as needed.
- Helping create pitch decks and graphics for original programming pitches.
- Light photo manipulation and color correction.
- Pitching in as needed on photoshoots, or other original broadcast programming (like AM to DM) and new initiatives
- Create videos on Lumen5
- Create social media platform posts and thumbnails for YouTube
- Use data visualization to convey complex information to external and internal audiences.
- Assist in environmental design and large installations.
- Take the design “brief” to record requirements and clients’ needs
- Schedule project implementation and define budget constraints
- Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software
- Prepare rough drafts and present your ideas
- Amend final designs to clients’ comments and gain full approval
- Work as part of a team with copywriters, designers, stylists, executives etc.
- Design various Marketing Materials like Brochure, Email headers, Social Media banners, to name a few.
- Design Landing Pages with goal-specific user interface and experience.
- Ability to create Marketing-driven graphic designs
